19. Favourite snackfood /
corvidology
Cheese! Cheese cubes (Gouda or Edam or Port Salut) and plum- or cherry tomatoes. You pop them in your mouth in turns. Eventually, the tomatoes will make your mouth sting, and you'll have to stop eating them, but until then it is pure bliss.
I'm also not averse to bell pepper or cucumber slices wrapped in cheese, but that requires slicing things which is not at all what I'm looking for when considering snack foods. I eat a lot of yoghurt as well. Too much? Probably. I probably eat too much yoghurt. Too much dairy, overall. I've switched to oat milk for most things, but oat yoghurt only works for me in smoothies. It's a work in progress.
I'm not big on crisps or popcorn or the like. For movie-watching munchies, I prefer the above-mentioned cheese combos, or something sweet.
Yeah, baby! Frank's back! And he's still dangerous and miserable, and I just know this show is going to be problematic, but I am so on board. The first episode was cool. His connection to the bartender was somehow very genuine, and adorably awkward. As a viewer, I was torn between very much wanting this to lead somewhere (Routines! Normalcy! This could be so good for him!) and wanting Frank to get the hell out of dodge before he ruins this nice lady's life by being his own unstable, violent self.
Sure enough, trouble ensues. The original comics are awful when it comes to female characters (or anyone who isn't Frank Castle, tbh), so I'm going to hold off judgment on this new mystery girl for now. Season 1 did justice to Karen Paige and Agent Madani, so I'm not too worried.
Oh, and speaking of season one. Billy Russo! YES. But please, his face? How bad is it? I really am very attached to his face.

Date: 2019-01-19 09:09 pm (UTC)I've always said that if a doctor told me to stop eating something or die I'd do it... unless it was cheese and then I'd just ask "how long have I got, doc?"

Well, I'm sure that's not your fault! ;) I lived in Quebec for a while there, and I found that the selection was a little on the slim side. A few good ones, for sure, but it seemed like things were rather mozzarella-heavy. (Which is not bad as such. Melted mozzarella on top of most things is good, but it's much more about consistency than taste.)

Oh yes, it's totally my fault. I hate the taste, I hate the texture xD There are some really good cheese here, if you know where to look. Or so I've been told. I don't really care for it :p

Date: 2019-01-20 08:29 pm (UTC)True. A friend of mine from the USA just moved to the UK to teach maths, and was kind of dumbfounded to find that movie theaters don't salt their popcorn, they apply sweet toppings. He had a tough time finding popcorn salt in the shops there. I can find a good sharp chedd here, but anything exotic: forget it. That requires a good cheese shop, and that's 100+ miles away.
