January journal: Day 5

I didn't have a prompt for today's January journal, so I picked one from

I found that on Tumblr, all the users just sort of flowed into one. Even though I've spent countless hours there, I can't come up with any single thing that I'd actively like to promote. Huh.
Twitter, however, is a different deal. I follow an account called
DeathMedieval and I find it all morbidly wonderful. It's a person going through medieval coroner's rolls in the UK, and posting what they find. It's just posts about how someone died in e.g 1321. No explanation, just what the coroner said. I can't explain why it fascinates me, but it does.
The second thing I'd like to promote is a podcast - which was technically not part of the challenge, but let's not sweat the details. It used to be a pretty big Youtube channel called What the Flick, but things changed and now it's literally just three people and a microphone in someone's living room. They review movies - as in they're professional movie critics who review movies, not a 20-something dude with opinions. The episodes are long, and I haven't found them on Spotify, so I've had to listen via their website. It's impractical, but they have clever conversations and they review a lot of films. I appreciate that they notice the kind that don't have big studios behind them and that I wouldn't otherwise hear about. So, hooray for them! I really hope they'd start posting the podcast on a more accessible platform. You can find them at What the Flick
What else? I could promote my favourite fic writer? Though it's a little redundant since I have a feeling most fandom people know her already, she's written so much and been around for such a long time. But, in case you haven't! Check out
astolat. She's written Thorki, Merlin, Supernatural, Sherlock... the list kind of just goes on. I... I read Transformers fic. Not because I remember anything about the show besides the episodes I watched as a child, but because astolat writes Transformers fic. That's how good she is. I'm not even kidding - those Transformers stories are really good. You'll enjoy them even if you don't care about the actual show at all.
If anyone wants to help me fill in my January journal, feel free to leave a comment here. I've got a lot of dates left to fill out, and I think it'd be more fun to do those rather than just copy from a generic challenge.
