I've not written in this journal in six years. Somehow, I imagined that (like an actual journal) it would be gone by now, forgotten at the back of a drawer. But here it is, exactly as I left it.
I can't make any grand claims that this is where I'm going to settle again, but I feel like I could give it a try. I miss journaling, and Tumblr (beautiful and chaotic as it is) doesn't quite manage to meet my needs in that respect. Everyone is speaking up, but it doesn't seem like there's much conversation going on. Granted, that might just be me being old and stiff.
Anyway. Hello, old friends.

Date: 2018-12-09 04:43 pm (UTC)The lack of conversation on Tumblr was a bit of a black hole for me. You could sit and scroll and favourite and reblog, but it felt very social-adjacent to me.
...On the other hand, coming here and not being able to express a general "hey, I read that post and acknowledge it was good" via favouriting feels odd. Maybe that's a good thing to get rid of.
Nice to meet you, in any case! :)

Date: 2018-12-23 12:52 pm (UTC)I suggest choosing the Mobility theme for your journal style. It was designed specifically for mobile, so it scales well on smartphones and tablets. And like all DW themes it's easily customisable. You can see it in action on my journal.
LJ has implemented a like function some time ago. I don't care for it. I'd rather not get a comment than get a like. It doesn't tell me much. But I know I am in the minority.
