Psst.

I'm going to Italy in April. Because. Because I'm a lucky, lucky human being. And [personal profile] falena and I agree that we need to enjoy life. Italy is a good way to enjoy life.

Other than that, nothing exciting to report. The little hospital called, and I now have work for the next three weeks, starting Monday. It's going to involve a lot of traveling back and forth so I don't miss too many classes, but it'll be worth it.

This also means I have time to listen to more podfic again. So. Rec me, dear flist! Give me something fresh! What's good in Sherlock and SPN right now? Or some other fandom. I'm not feeling picky! (Just don't spoil me for the last three spn episodes, k?) And, I don't feel like AU right now. I would love some straight up fanfic. So, alright. Maybe I'm feeling a little picky.

So the other day, I was the only one who showed up for my literature class. Eh. The lecturer and I then discussed Madame Bovary for two hours. I felt like a moron, and it was difficult, but - as discussing literature usually is - also a lot of fun. I wish I spoke better french. >.<

At the end of it, I was feeling a little deflated. I felt like I hadn't managed to get any points across, and that the ones I had, had been completely dumb and completely unoriginal. Before I left, the lecturer put down his notes and went "will you write your Master's for the french department?"

I mumbled something about how I don't know, *mumble* haven't REALLY decided *mumble* I'm technically *mumble mumble* writing *mumble* English department, but that I do like the french faculty. He said he would very much want me to write a literature thesis for French, especially since I'm leaning towards Quebecois. "You clearly have a knack for this," he said.

Yeah. That felt pretty good.

Ah, it's been a while since I watched Jon Lajoie. :)

It doesn't really help when the teaching isn't great and there's no consequences at all if you don't show up or show up twenty minutes late. I get not really caring as much as you should (I don't), but heck I still drag myself to the classes more often than not.

*sigh* I'm getting so damned annoyed at this whole thing. We basically have mandatory attendance, except that isn't enforced in any way. People show up late to everything, even exams. For fuck's sake you show up twnety minutes late to an exam for no good reason and YOU DON'T GET TO TAKE THE FUCKING EXAM! It's that fucking simple. But oh, no it's all "but they don't get it, they're from different cultures. They just do things differently where they're from". And I just want to shake everyone in charge of anything at the place, becuase this is not what's meant with being accepting of other cultures. As teacher's you get to demand basic respect, having the fucking students yell at you and insult is not how you do it, and you don't shrug it off with "oh, dealing with foreign cultures is so difficult sometimes". IT's not fucking kindergarten, the teacher isn't spposed to need to look for the students supposesed to be in class, you don't get to wander off whenever you feel like it, going of to talk on the phone during class is not fucking okay unless it's something god damn fucking urgent and important.

Okay end rant now. Just slightly annoyed. :D
