Back!
Feeling all sorts of disoriented. There are so many things to catch up on online, I don't even know where to start. My room is a mess. Most of my clothes are 250 km away, along with my sneakers, leaving me with only sandals and winter boots to wear in autumn weather.
I want to make a proper post about it, with videos and pictures and everything, but I'm still in the process of uploading and organizing, so it'll take a while.
falena is like Christmas wrapped in a person. A benevolent spring hurricane of information and squee and wonderfulness. Genova was wonderful (and I got to see the Mediterranean!) and the food was just... I don't think I tasted a single thing I didn't like during the whole trip.
We also went to Imola and Ravenna and even visited Venice a little.
lillannan and I kept saying that the trip couldn't possibly have gone any better. Our italian friends in Imola had made it their holy mission to show us all the best parts of their area, and succeeded in their task brilliantly.
A few friends from Hungary are visiting until Tuesday. They arrived while we were still away, and got to spend half their holiday by themselves in our apartment. Because, yes, I will forget I have friends coming over, and take off for Italy two days before. I also forgot to tell our third flatmate that there will be people in the apartment, so when she got back from Iceland, there were strangers in the kitchen.
Proud of myself, I am not. The level un-organized that my life has reached is a little scary. I don't even know where to start untangling it all.
Today is the Orientation party for the new exchange students. I'm blissfully un-involved with the exchange student network this semester, so I plan to mostly just pop in and look at all the new faces, and possibly feel a little old. Most likely me and the Hungarians will spend the evening playing Munchkin and drinking pálinka (rasberry and honey flavour, because evil can often appear sweet). This is not at all a bad thing.

Date: 2011-09-08 11:57 am (UTC)I finally figured out how to convert the stupid video files into .avi files so they're easier to play - but everything I upload to photobucket has the sound out of synch. It's incredibly annoying! Anyway. I'm going to zip a bunch of movies in .avi format and send you a megaupload link, so you'll have them too to use as you see fit. :) I can't wait have all this organizing over with so I can just post stuff already and show people!

Date: 2011-09-08 11:53 am (UTC)At the farm there's just more people around, so you're always working with someone. And if you aren't, there's usually someone you can call to help you out if you need it. Keeping things running is a constant team effort.
Self-discipline is not my strong suit, so trying to organize everything and get ready for the new semester, as well as getting used to being my own boss again... It's disorienting, and pretty stressful. I think I'm getting back into the groove of things though. My fall semester usually goes pretty well - it's after Christmas that I start losing momentum. >.
