Still alive. Just barely. Back from Ostrobothnia. (Where I was rather silly) Super tired. There's so much I want to do! The day does not hold enough hours.
I want to
a) sit down and read a tonne of fic
b) actually participate in the wacky wonderfulness that is my flist (I am reading, seriously.) and answer a bunch of comments, because peace of mind cannot be achieved until my inbox is empty.
c) post the last entry about the Murmansk trip
d) edit rpg-fic
e) finish the stupid chapter about Crowley and post it somewhere
d) post things on the Finnish fandom comm (because I have things to say!)
e) watch the extras on the SPN season 1 DVD that I bought with money I was supposed to use on groceries.
f) make a rant-y post about the silly new government and why it's silly, and make everyone listen to this song, which is not at all my style of music, but the lyrics are delicious and it's been stuck in my head for days.
g) write a proper introduction-type post, so that the stuff I scribble here might have some actual context
... There was something else, but I forget.
News in Jutta-land read as following:
- I have work at the local hospital until next week and need to get up at 5:30 every morning. (And this is not complaining, because omg, I'm actually getting paid for this. This is joy, eventhough it's joy mumbled sleepily into a pillow.) As it turns out, speaking four languages isn't all that impressive - but being fluent in the complicated system that is the shipping, billing and moving of goods in a hospital, that is a skill that will make people call you at home and offer you work. This is good to know for future reference.
- Harvest has started. The house humms with tension and excitement. The family has swelled from the normal 5-8 people to around 15. The kitchen bustles 10 hours per day, the sauna is heated every night. Due to working during the day, I'm exempt from tractor and barn duty, but not from the cooking and cleaning. If it doesn't rain, we should have cleared the fields in 14 days. *keeps fingers crossed* Parents decided not to close down the B&B during this period, so we (read: me & mom) are hosting somebody's confirmation party on Saturday.
- Weekend will see the arrival of at least
lillannan. This is of the yay!
- I think it would be fun to try and record a podfic. I don't have the voice for it, I know, but it would be nice to try it once.
- Sister was the sweetest thing and ranted at parents about how they keep eating all the low-carb food I've been trying to save for myself so I could stick to my diet. I'm not sure when it happened, but at some point my chronically ill-tempered, bratty sibling has grown into a rather compassionate human being. I need to try harder to treat her like one. It's hard to break some patterns, and I don't think I'm always fair to her.

Eh, bah, oui.

Date: 2011-06-28 08:09 pm (UTC)It certainly sounds as if you're very busy... farm harvest, B&B, over run with relatives/family, and working a job during the days? Hmm... I'm surprised you had time to even write this post! LOL. Hope things calm down soon, and you have more time to enjoy the things you want to. :)
Oh, I know what you mean about younger siblings. I've recently had cause to be reminded at least two of my three younger siblings have grown into adult humans I am lucky to call friends and family. The third sibling? Well, I've not made up my mind there; it would seem she's regressed to the teenage angst stage (despite being in her 20s), and that's rather annoying.

Heh, yeah. Our house reminds me a little bit of a bus station right now, with all the people running in and out >.< The excess relatives is nothing new though, we're sort of a... I don't know, a tribe more than a nuclear family over here. It's just that all the relatives currently here are teenagers. Harvest is the time all the older generation aunts, uncles and cousins send their young'uns over to us - whether the kids want to come or not :P Most seem to figure that a few weeks spent doing good, old fashioned manual labour will give the offspring some perspective.
I can't complain though. I would like to,believe me, but I can't. I've worked the harvest every summer since I was 12, and it took a good four years before I stopped being a whiny brat about it. For the ones that spend most of their time in the city, and know the countryside only as that fun place you go to relax and swim, they're suffering from some major culture shock. :P

Is she by any chance the youngest one? My baby sister is the youngest too, and she's always been the most childish of us. (And she's the one I lose my temper with the fastest.) She can still be incredibly bratty, eventhough our relationship has developed a lot the past few years. But you know, they say that something like 1/4 of all women in their 20's suffer from depression. So at least you know it's not that uncommon - and if the number holds true, then logically, she should get better with time.
