scandafandom! Det här tycker jag är helt fantastiskt.
And for the English speakers - look at the shiny community! It's a fandom community, where they use only scandinavian languages. I feel I need to pimp it out because... well, yay for languages! (And, yes, ok, I know it's on lj... but... languages. Yay. You know?)
I don't know if one already exists, but personally I would love to see a comm like this crop up for an even wider audience. It would be, let's say awesome, to get to read SPN fic in French. Or podfic. *sigh* Couldn't someone please read me some SPN fic in French? Pretty please? For my birthday, maybe? (Why yes,
falena, this is my best impersonation of a puppy-face, and I am focusing it on you :P)
The audiofic archive had some stuff in French in HP fandom - which I did listen to, because that's how badly I need to improve my oral comprehension, and because it featured Luna Lovegood, and she's awesome. But there was nothing in SPN. And I'm sure there's people who've written stuff in French, I'm sure of it. But I haven't figured out how to find a comm for it - if there even is one. Or Italian! Ye gods, I would love to try and get through a ficlet in Italian. Between rudimentary Latin and advanced French and www.wordreference.com, I'll bet you anything I could do it!
What I'm saying is, there should be more comms like
scandafandom. It's good for language learners, and it's good for fic writers, and it's good because it's fun! I mean, for all I know, there's tonnes of them... in which case, please point them out, and I'll be forever grateful.
I'm always complaining that I don't get around to reading enough in Swedish. Aside from the occasional newspaper, almost all my reading is in English or Finnish. Providing fic starts cropping up, I'll get to read all sorts of stuff now. So. Yes. Hooray!

Date: 2011-06-07 10:03 pm (UTC)Haha "seulement" quatre langues.
