I don't remember the beginning of it very well - just that I was in England, and somehow hanging out with my grandma.
I went for a walk, through what looked like the town of Orimattila, and I ended up in this big yard that was surrounded by apartment buildings. Only they weren't apartment buildings really, they were a prison.
I knew that I had quite a few relatives in there that I hadn't seen for a while, so I decided I'd go for a visit.
Inside, it looked like any old building, except that someone had drawn graffiti all over the walls - in yellow paint. On the third floor, I met my uncle (and that was weird because it was one of my uncles that in real life has never actually been to prison). He hugged me for a long time and was really glad to see me. I was mostly awkward, because it wasn't really him that I was looking for. We exchanged some words, and he told me where to find my cousin. Other people were standing there too, but I don't remember who they were.
I climbed a few more sets of stairs, and found my cousin. Only my cousin was a yellow, hunting line labrador. He was really glad to see me. We hugged and talked and decided we should go for a walk. I had a leash on me and everything, so it was all good.
We were walking down the stairs for a really long time. During that he gave me a piece of bread that he'd made, and it tasted divine. It was more like a pastry, really, with this yellow vanilla cream on top. I told him he should be a baker or a cook if he can make stuff like this. He liked the idea, and said that maybe he would try to apply for a school. It was all very hopeful.
Once we got out on the yard, he ran around sniffing things for a while, and then we found ourselves heading towards the parking lot. At this point I realized he was trying to trick me into helping him escape (because who would wonder about some girl walking her dog, right?). I confronted him about it, and for a moment it looked like he might bolt, but then he understood how upset I was.
I told him that he was almost done with his sentence, and how wonderful wouldn't it be for him to finally be free for real after and not have to be on the run. And then he could become a pastry chef.
He said yeah, ok, and followed me half-way across the yard. But then he heard some other dog start barking somewhere, and he turned and took off that way. I woke up trying to chase him down.
I don't actually think I'm going to make it to the library today. I'm already a good 40 minutes late from schedule. I'll try to work from home, at least a little. If I finish the bit in my theory section where I talk about the location of the secondary world, that'll be accomplishment enough.
In the evening there'll be a planning session for a new sci-fi game.
