15 days, 5 things, day 2
Last day up in Kokkola-land. It's been a pretty wonderful week, all things considered. It's always a little surprising just how comfortable I feel here. I'm going to miss being surrounded by cats.
5 not-so-basic-facts about you.
1. I adore dough.
It's not a particularly uncommon trait, I suppose, but I really love the stuff. Unbaked cookies, cake batter, even dough for bread... I turn into a five-year-old. The finished product, while nommy, can never really hold a candle to the satisfaction I get from eating the unbaked version. Brownies are the only exception to this rule.
I'm currently on a diet that is very low on carbohydrates and high in fat. I enjoy it immensely, but cookie dough is definitely not on the menu anymore. Not that it was a common thing before, but knowing it's not something I get to have is a little sucky.
2. I haven't worn a matching pair of socks in years.
This is not intentional, or a fashion statement. This is a symptom of the fact that I can never be bothered to keep track of my stuff. When socks separate in the wash from their original partner, I don't try to re-pair them, I just throw them in the drawer with all the other socks. My only criteria is that the socks I do wear are roughly the same size and material.
3. I don't like sitting next to blunt shapes, like hammers or wooden cooking spoons.
It doesn't make any sense, but I always have this feeling like I might somehow mysteriously grab whatever I'm close to, and hit myself in the sternum with it. Not a trait I care to advertise, exactly.
4. When I'm nervous, I make shit up.
I'm a lot better at keeping a lid on it now than I was when I was younger, but in some situations I have to make a real effort not to lie all the time. (And usually about completely random things, too. I wouldn't be able to explain half of the stuff I've said.) As a result, my online friends usually have a better take on me than many IRL friends. It's easier to be honest, without the pressure.
5. I carry a hairband around on my wrist whenever I leave the house.
It's there in case I need/want to put my hair up in the middle of the day, but it also serves as a handy thing to fiddle with while thinking or talking. I rarely lose the hairband I use the most, but rather wear it out until the elasticity is gone. Then I buy a new packet, pick a favourite, and carry it around until it dies. The rest of the packet usually goes missing.
